For something a little different, here’s some video of last weekend. This is a bit of a celebration.
I have Japanese friends, so you’ll find subtitles.
日本人の友達に「すみません!日本語が下手です!」
2008-08-12: Update: The FaceBook version of the video is much cleaner.
Status: 70 pounds (32 kg) lighter.
Well done on finishing the cycling event!
How much more weight do you want to lose?
I’m not shooting for a particular number. I’m watching my middle. When the “love handles” are gone, then I’m done with this part of my grand experiment, and I can transition my focus.
In the mean time, I’m using weight to track progress. The stuff hanging around my middle has mass. As it disappears my weight goes down… so they seem to go together.
I’m getting close, maybe an inch or two more.
Of all the places you’ve lost bulk, is your middle the last to go?
Yes. Everywhere else seems to have lost most all its flab, but the middle is the last obvious hold out. As I remember, that was the first place to show, too. I don’t know if that’s typical, or if it’s because I’m so lanky.
Congratulations on the ride, that’s awesome! 67 miles!
Hey Joe! Met you at the race as a volunteer. Fun to see the video with our stop in it. Great job on the ride. Check out Trek of American Fork if you need some biking supplies!
Patty and Megan…..
Hey Patty and Megan,
Thank you both for volunteering at the event. Your effort helped to make the ride such a delight, not just for me, but most everybody I talked with. I had a great time chatting with you both. Maybe I’ll see you there in AF.
